Experimental Abstract Collage Making Workshop with Andy Burgess
Join us for this super fun, hands on workshop, during which you’ll explore the dynamic interplay of shape, color, and composition while creating your own striking collages.
This workshop is open to all levels from beginners to experienced artists.
In this session, Andy will demonstrate and explain how to use a wide variety of materials and substrate, and also how to achieve accurate cutting and pasting techniques, so that students will gain valuable technical skills alongside artistic inspiration.
Mat board and Lineco PH neutral adhesive will be provided.
Recommended Materials and tools:
2 synthetic acrylic brushes (size 1/2” -1”)
an old catalog or magazine to use as gluing surface
scissors and exacto knife
ruler
Yuhu glue sticks
Feel free to bring your collected ephemera (stamps, ticket stubs, maps, match books, end papers, etc).
* No new newspaper or magazine paper. Think tactility over imagery.
